Placement & Training
In preparing our students to be career-ready professionals, we provide many enrichment programmes and co-curricula activities to enhance the rigorous academic provision that the East Asia Institute of Management (EASB) is known for. For our hospitality students, we excposed and equipped them through our own in-house Pre-Industrial Attachmentt training and internship opportunities, the essential skills and expertise to be successful in their chosen field of work. Upon graduation, our students will have possessed the 4Cs of Professional Success – Creative, Confident, Commited and Competent.
While we are careful never to promise jobs as a means to attract and increase our student enrolments, and to explicitly detach and dissociate the school from promising prospective students a job after graduation, we do take great effort to prepare our students and graduates for entry into the corporate world. EASB takes pride in offering critical value-adding career development support that will enhance job opportunities by providing Pre-employment workshops, with special emphasis on CV Writing skills, Job Search, Interview opportunities, Interview skills, Personal Grooming, Work Ethics and updates on the latest MOM policies, etc are conducted to equip our new graduates with useful information for them to gain a competitive advantage over their peers.
In addition to classroom teaching and coursework, students are exposed to two-months of in-house hospitality training at the EASB’s Hospitality & Tourism Training Centre (HTTC) and are exposed to a host of industry standard application software packages such as the FEDELIO, OPERA V5 (PMS) Reservation and Front Office software. Upon completion on the in-house training, students will be further exposed to a 6-month internship programme in 4 and 5-star international hotels, as well as, in well-known F&B outlets, restaurants and other tourism and events related organizations.
Apart from the 8-week pre Industrial Attachment training, which prepares students for internship，we also provide students an 8-week Supervisory training and subsequently, a 6-week Managerial training during their final year of Hospitality & Tourism studies. The Supervisory training involves topics such as Supervise Front Office Operations, Supervise Housekeeping Operations and Supervise F&B Operations, while the Managerial training topics include Revenue Management, Menu Engineering & Planning, HR functions, P&L, Breakeven Analysis, Team Building, Problem Solving, Decision Making and Leadership etc.
All these practical trainings are intended to prepare our students to be Career-Ready professionals, who will be an asset to their employers from the first day of their work.
