Programme Objective

On completion of the Masters degree programme, the graduate will be able to:
Effectively review, organize, synthesis and critically evaluate evidence; treat evidence as problematic and comment critically on it.

Confidently exercise individual and rational judgment and develop strategic thinking within a framework of academic and professional accountability.

Contribute to theoretical and/or professional innovation at personal and organizational levels.

Demonstrate research competence.

Academic Requirement:
Candidates must have a first degree in Nursing and 2 year post-registration nursing experience.
Candidates must be a registered healthcare professionals in Singapore.

Proficiency in English Language:
English Language Proficiency of Minimum IELTS 6.5 or EASB ETEDP 6.5.

Contemporary Nursing Practice

This module offers the student the opportunity to analyse and debate the essential underpinning concepts of nursing and their relevance to current nursing practice.

Leading in Healthcare

This module will prepare practitioners for leadership in practice by reflecting on individual contribution to and potential for leadership, examining the evidence base for leadership and exploring the role of leadership in change management in current healthcare contexts.

Research Methods

The aim of this module is to provide the student with an understanding of research principles, and the range of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and appropriate analysis. This will enable the student to develop the research skills and knowledge necessary to undertake an independent research project.

Research Project

The overall aim of this module is to enable students to develop and apply the skills of research and enquiry to produce original work which contributes to a subject, field or profession. To engage students in study which demands a professional approach, academic rigour, independence and self-direction.

Human Resource Management

To enable students to develop a knowledge and critical understanding of the core theories and concepts in the management of people and groups in organisations. Examine the alignment of human resources with key organisational goals by drawing upon functional areas such as recruitment and selection, performance management strategic HRM, equality and diversity, and learning and development.

Developing Professional Practice - Work Based Learning

The overall aim of this module is to enable the student to plan, implement and critically evaluate a proposed professional education development which strengthens the relationship between theoretical principles and practice in order to advance their practice in the work-place through work based learning education.

Directing Strategy for Value Creation

The module aims to facilitate critical enquiry in directing/managing strategy, predicated upon the objective of creating and sustaining value, within the contextual settings of different organisational forms and the dynamics of a changing environment. Develop student understanding of contemporary strategic management challenges faced in the creation of stakeholder value, the importance of integration and their implications for organisational and managerial practices

Dissertation Project

To enable students to develop critical inquiry skills and understanding of different approaches to research which contribute to advancing persion-centred practice and knowledge generation.

To engage students in systematic study of an asspect of professional practice with which the student engages with academic rigour, self-directed learning and reflexivity, leading to transformation of self, others and the practice context.
