The Singapore Learning Expo 2002 exhibition
is an experiential and interactive event officially opened by
President SR Nathan on the 1st November 2002 at the Suntec Singapore
International Convention and Exhibition Centre. It offers to all
a range of learning opportunities that span from further studies
with prestigious universities from around the world to simple
and fun finger crafts such as Stencilling. Various career opportunities
were also showcased at the exhibition.
With a hotel-like front-office reception
and restaurant setting, EASB's booth was totally in sync with
the hospitality and tourism industry. This provides a setting
for EASB's Hospitality and Tourism Management Diploma and Advanced
Diploma. The programmes include an industrial project whereby
theories acquired throughout the student's course will be put
into practice during the 6 months during which students will be
attached to local hospitality and tourism related organisations
such as 4 and 5 star hotels.

In the spirit of learning, the booth was swarmed
with interested individuals eager to upgrade themselves with quality
courses from Queen Margaret University courses and Heriot-Watt
University. And judging by the enthusiastic turnout of this year,
more people are willing to embrace a journey in the Hospitality
and Tourism Industry. Pensively discussing among themselves, most
of the school leavers were interested in how Queen Margaret University
College and EASB's programme could help them save 2 years and
get a head start in their career. EASB was very honoured when
the event's guest of honour, President SR Nathan and Minister
of Manpower, Dr Lee Boon Yang, visited EASB's booth with their
retinue of officials after the grand opening ceremony.
