Introduction

This course is designed to introduce supervisors, frontline managers, and team leaders to basic management principles. It presumes no formal training or public management course, but some experience in business or public organizations will facilitate understanding. Its purpose is threefold:
(a) to present practical ideas and tools for practicing managers, leaders and supervisors;
(b) to build a foundation of management concepts that will prepare managers, leaders and
     supervisors for successful experiences; and
(c) to help participant develop a positive and constructive philosophy of management.
 
The terms supervisor, team leader and manager are used interchangeability in the course. Most observers consider managers as those who perform the processes and functions of management at any level of an organization. Supervisors are managers directly responsible for the work of people at the operative level, where the service is rendered or the product is designed, made, processed, distributed or supported.
 
The present course equips the participants with basic management principles and approaches that both new and experienced leaders find essential. It promotes an understanding of the supervisor or team leader as a manager. Participants who take just this course will have studied the principal areas of managing and thus bettered their understanding of the job. They will have concepts, tools and skills useful in any leadership role or managerial position.

Full Time: 5 days, 6 hours per day
Part Time: 2.5 months, once a week, 3 hours a day

1. Replacements are allowed without charge. Please inform us of the replacement in writing at least
    3 days before the commencement date.
2. Cancellation received less then 10 working days prior to the workshop will carry a 30% administration fee.
3. Confirmation will be sent out via email 2 weeks prior to the commencement date.
4. EASB reserves the right to reschedule/cancel a workshop in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
