Business Certificate in Leadership
Introduction

The demand for managers and leaders has increased dramatically during the past decades because of increasing technology and growth, along with restructuring of organizations. Not only are more leaders needed, the changes in organizations have als9 made the task more complex and challenging. The skills and responsibilities previously required of middle managers have been pushed to the supervisory level, and there is every indication that this transformation will continue unabated well into the 21st century.

This course is designed to focus on the problems, concepts and techniques of leading people in organizations. It is intended to stand alone although it uses skills developed in other courses. Those participants having taken other courses in this series will naturally have more background in applying the skills. Nonetheless, people with no course experience can benefit from this training.

The course is built on the premise that every manager is a leader and can improve his or her leadership skills, given the concepts and the incentive. This course stressed on the importance of skill development, especially the basic skills that have a known impact on one’s success.
