15 December 2011 marks the official opening of the new hospitality and tourism training centre and thereby, setting a new milestone for the collaboration between EASB and QMU. EASB invested about 2 million dollars to establish a comprehensive training centre furnished to replicate a hotel. Located in the EASB Balestier campus, facilities for the new training centre include front office reception, bedrooms, fine-dining restaurant, professional kitchen, casino training area and auditorium. Hospitality students not only have to go through the curriculum in campus, but also required to complete a 4 to 6 month internship at leading hotels, F&B outlets and other various hospitality & tourism outlets as part of the programme. Our students are also exposed to personal development skills and resume writing workshops to gain a competitive edge over others.

To make the opening ceremony more eventful, a pair of EASB pedigree lions was invited to bring blessings and good fortune to an auspicious opening occasion. The twin EASB pedigree lions, aptly called Delight and Success, connote respectively “Delighting customers” and “Success is our inspiration”. The twin lions were then initiated through a traditional ceremony of eye dotting, which is necessary for any new launch or venture to usher in good fortune, prosperity, success and a good outcome.

Coupled with latest knowledge and trends in the industry, their education journey in EASB would eventually prepare them for them for an exciting and challenging career in hospitality.
