Psychology is one of the fastest growing university subjects around the World, and it is becoming more and more available as a service in the community. With the increasing of social complexity in this face-paced economy, there is an urgent need of qualified psychologists in Singapore.

This module aims to explore the importance of psychosocial factors in health and illness and discuss the interactional nature of the mind-body relationship. It introduces theories of health behaviour and discusses their efficacy in informing the design of interventions and bringing about behavioural change. This module also emphasises the importance of communication in therapeutic relationships
The module aims to explore contemporary social issues through application of psychological theory. It introduces areas of current social concern. This module also explore how psychological knowledge helps understand social issues and develop critical thinking skills through application of psychological theories to social issues.
This module aims to foster an independent approach to research, enabling students to gain practical and directly relevant experience in research design and method. It explores further and test empirically issues of personal and psychological interest and students gain experience in how research findings can be analysed, interpreted and reported.
This module aims to allow the student to experience the process of designing new psychological tests and encourage the student to evaluate existing psychological instruments. Help the student understand the procedures involved in reliability and validity testing and enable the student to put into practice reliability and validity testing procedures
This module aims to promote an understanding of both cultural and cross cultural psychology. Help student to understand the importance of cultural and historical influences on human development and to identify relevant theories and approaches (eg social constructionism, social representations).
This module aims to demonstrate a knowledge of the theoretical concepts of exercise psychology for various population and to apply that knowledge in basic exercise prescription.
Firstly, this module aims to broaden understanding of psychological difficulties and mental health. Specifically this will involve (i) Exploring the concept of "normality" and "abnormality" in relation to psychological health; (ii) examining and critically evaluating the explanations proposed for the aetiologies of various psychological disorders; (iii) developing and understanding of the prevalence of psychological disorders and difficulties
Secondly, the course aims to explore the evidence base underpinning Clinical Psychological interventions: (i) evaluating the treatment approaches available for specific psychological disorders; (ii) providing a framework for students to research their particular areas of interest in clinical psychology; (iii) evaluating the concept of evidence based practice, and its applicability to clinical psychology.
This module explores the relationship between effective counseling skills and behaviour change. It also improves student’s interviewing and counseling skills to promote bahaviour change in others.
This module aims to introduce students to the main areas of occupational psychology. Students will be able to carry out a job analysis, develop a person specification, identify suitable tools for selection of personnel. Discuss the impact of various factors on employee relations and motivation.
East Asia Institute of Management, EASB, is in the first batch of PEIs to be awarded the 4-year EduTrust Certification by the Council for Private Education. EduTrust certification recognises PEIs that have robust academic systems and processes, and have attained quality standards in the delivery of education.
EASB has adopted both the escrow bank account and insurance scheme for the protection of total fees paid by all students as required under the EduTrust Certification Scheme.
EASB has in place a mandatory group medical insurance policy as required by the Council for Private Education for all students’ hospitalization and treatment throughout their course duration. In addition, EASB has a group personal accident insurance coverage for all students.
EASB has adopted the standard PEI-student contract.
