Advanced Diploma in Banking & Finance
The Advanced Diploma in Banking and Finance is designed to provide a high quality and professionally relevant undergraduate programme, developing in students a sound understanding of banking and finance and its applications. Students are also encouraged to be critical thinkers and learners that will enable them to embark on further learning and professional career developments.
 


PROGRESSION PATHWAY
  Each level of study consists of 120 credits. Upon successful completion of the Advanced Diploma, students may advance to the Cardiff Metropolitan University , Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Banking & Finance programme.

PROGRAMME OBJECTIVE
 











A core of academic knowledge, understanding and technical skills related to the finance and banking industry;

An awareness of the broader contextual issues influencing banking and finance;

An appreciation of the management and organisational behavioural theories and practices;

An appreciation of the significance of key legal, economic, and banking and finance concepts to the business organisation;

A knowledge and understanding of the main current and alternative technical language and practices within banking and finance from an international perspective;

A knowledge and understanding of theories and empirical evidence concerning the effects of banking and finance in various contexts and the ability to critically evaluate such theories and evidence.

ASSESSMENT Top

 
Each module is assessed by academic work comprising written assignments, case study reports, essays, examination as determined by the subject profile. The assessment criterion varies from module to module and level to level.

DELIVERY METHOD Top

 
Generally the curriculums for all levels are taught over 4 terms of 12 weeks. Modules are conducted in formal instructor-led classroom sessions where students are introduced to the course discipline. Each term will cover 2-3 modules with 50 contact hours per module. Lectures are 2-hour sessions and Tutorial 3-hour sessions weekly.

EDUTRUST FOR EDUCATION Top

 

East Asia Institute of Management, EASB, is in the first batch of PEIs to be awarded the 4-year EduTrust Certification by the Council for Private Education. EduTrust certification recognises PEIs that have robust academic systems and processes, and have attained quality standards in the delivery of education.

EASB has adopted both the escrow bank account and insurance scheme for the protection of total fees paid by all students as required under the EduTrust Certification Scheme.

EASB has in place a mandatory group medical insurance policy as required by the Council for Private Education for all students’ hospitalization and treatment throughout their course duration. In addition, EASB has a group personal accident insurance coverage for all students.

EASB has adopted the standard PEI-student contract.
